RESCUE UPDATE:

12/31/06 1313hrs - MVA, 7th Ave. & Terrace St. Carbondale City
A reported 2 car crash with injuries and fluids down brought out Cottage crews on this New Year's Eve.  Units arrived to find a minor MVA with all occupants refusing EMS.  Rescue 51 was cancelled enroute.

12/31/06 0340hrs - MVA, 300 block Main St. Simpson 
An early start to New Year's Eve for the Rescue 51 crews as they were sent along with Cottage EMS and Station 61 fire for the car into a pole.  Units arrived to find a van that rolled over at least once before striking the pole, shearing it half, bringing down all the wires and a few transformers.  The occupant was self extricated and was transported to MCH by Cottage EMS.  Rescue stayed on scene for along with E61-4 until the scene was cleaned up.

12/30/06 1038hrs - MVA, N. Scott St. Carbondale City
Rescue 51 and Cottage EMS were sent to the injury accident. Rescue was cancelled enroute as it was not needed. R51, 51-9, E51, CPD

12/27/06  0953hrs - MVA, Owego Turnpike & Dundaff St. Fell Twp.
A car into a tree brought rescue and EMS crews from Cottage to the top of the Owego Turnpike.  The first arriving EMS unit found a 1 car accident with the single occupant out of the vehicle.  R51 arrived and assisted crews from Station 61 control hazards.  EMS transported the victim to Marian Community.

12/26/06 1700hrs - MVA, Brooklyn St. 
Carbondale City Rescue 51, Cottage EMS and CFD were sent to the reported car vs. pole.   Units were advised that the pt was "confined, but not entrapped" in the vehicle.  R51 was the first arriving unit to find the victim out of the vehicle.  The victim refused EMS treatment.  R51 stabilized the vehicle and provided lighting for the CPD investigation.

12/24/06 0440hrs - MVA, 7th. Ave. & Church St., Carbondale City
An early awakening on Christmas Eve for Rescue 51 as we were sent to the reported vehicle into a pole with an unresponsive driver.  Units arrived to find the single occupant out of the vehicle in police custody.  He was transported by Cottage EMS for an evaluation.  Rescue services were not needed.

12/22/06 2330hrs - MVA, 8th Ave. & Main St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS & Rescue were sent along with CFD for the MVA with injuries. Units arrived to find a minor MVA with no injuries.  EMS obtained refusals.

12/21/06 1210hrs - Structure fire  River St. Carbondale City 
Cottage Rescue and EMS were dispatched to assist the Carbondale FD with the reported structure fire.  R51 arrived shortly after CFD units to find a working fire on division 2.  A 2nd alarm brought a second EMS unit to the scene.

12/16/06 0002hrs - Car Fire  Main St. Simpson 
Rescue 51 and Cottage EMS were dispatched to the reported car fire near the Simpson bridge.  Just as units were responding C61 cancelled all units as no car fire was found.

12/15/06 1830hrs - MVA, pedestrian struck, Belmont St. Carbondale City 
Cottage units were dispatched to the reported child struck by a vehicle.  Due to a dispatch error, R51's tones were never hit, therefore R51 did not respond.  Cottage EMS was assisted by E51 at the scene and transported the child to CMC.

12/15/06 1610hrs - MVA, Clidco Dr. Carbondale City.
Cottage units were sent to assist the Carbondale PD on an MVA with possible injuries.  Due to a dispatch error, the rescue tones were not hit, therefore R51 did not respond.  Cottage EMS transported one injured person to MCH.

12/14/06 1830hrs - MVA, Salem Ave. & Terrace St. Carbondale City.
Rescue 51, Cottage EMS and CFD were sent to the accident with injuries.  R51 portables arrived to find that rescue services were not needed, cancelling R51 just as it began it's response.  Cottage EMS transported the injured to MCH.

12/14/06 1126hrs -- MVA, Casey Highway at exit 7 
Cottage EMS and Rescue were sent along with Carbondale Twp. fire units for the reported injury accident.  Units arrived to find a 2 car crash with all patients self extricated.  Cottage EMS transported two patients to Wayne Memorial Hospital.  The rescue assisted with vehicle stabilization and cleanup.

12/12/06 1608hrs -- Pedestrian struck, Rt. 6 Carbondale City.
Cottage EMS & Rescue were sent to the reported pedestrian struck by a car in front of Kost Tire in Carbondale.  Cottage EMS transported the patient to Marian Community.  Rescue services were not needed.

12/10/06 1520hrs -- MVA, Rt.6 Carbondale Twp.
Units were sent to the 2 car MVA with injuries. Units arrived to find a minor MVA with little or no damage to either vehicle.  EMS crews transported one and obtained some refusals.

12/10/06 1410hrs -- MVA, Rt. 106 Fell Twp.
Units were sent to the 2 car MVA with injuries. Units arrived to find a minor MVA with little or no damage to either vehicle.  EMS crews transported one to CMC and obtained two refusals.  No rescue services needed.

12/6/06  1650hrs -- Gas leak, Cottage Sub Station - Canaan St.
The rescue and EMS responded along with the city fire dept. to our very own substation for the reported gas leak.  Units arrived to find a broken main at the rear of the building.  The gas was immediately shut off until repairs can be made.

12/5/06 2030hrs -  MVA, Rt 171 Vandling
Rescue 51 was sent to assist Station 42, Rescue 41, Forest City EMS and Mobile 9 on the rollover on Rt 171 in Vandling Boro.  Units arrived to find the accident in Fell Twp. which brought Station 61 to the scene.  Upon the arrival of R51, E42, R41 and E61-4 had established the scene.  R51 returned to service on the scene.

11/29/2006  1200hrs -- MVA, Dundaff St.  Carbondale City R51, Cottage ALS/BLS and CFD were dispatched to the reported pedestrian struck near the post office on Dundaff St.  Units arrived to find a male sitting on the side of the roadway suffering minor injuries after being hit by a truck.  The R51 crew assisted Cottage EMS along with members of CFD in packaging the patient who was transported to Marian Community. 11/25/06   2200hrs -- EMS assist, Casey Highway
R51 was dispatched to assist Cottage EMS for the reported "body in the roadway" in one of the westbound lanes near exit 7 on the Casey Highway. A R51 portable quickly arrived to find the "body" to be a sleeping bag.  All units were returned to service.

11/20/06 1800hrs -- Vehicle leaking gas - LVIH at the scenic overlook
R51 and Station 60 were sent to the above for the reported Jeep leaking a large amount of gasoline.  As R51 arrived it was placed back into service by Chief 60 because the leak was minimal.

11/19/06 0810hrs -- MVA, Meredith St. Carbondale Twp.
R51, Cottage EMS and CTFD were originally dispatched to the Casey Highway at exit 7 for a reported car over an embankment.  Lackawanna Co. Comm Center then advised that the call is on Meredith St.  Units arrived to find a truck at the bottom of the large culm pile that appeared to have rolled from the top.  Members of R51 and E60 made their way the approximately 500 feet off the roadway to assess the vehicle.  No patients were found.  Units returned to service while PSP handled the vehicle removal.

11/16/06  1607hrs -- MVA, Northwest Rd. Fell Twp.
R51 & 51-9 were sent with FTFD for the reported vehicle rollover with injuries.  R51 portables quickly arrived to find a SUV on it's roof into a tree with the single occupant self extricated.  51-9/CH3 arrived and assumed patient care.  R51 & E61-4 arrived and held the scene until the vehicle was removed.

11/15/06 1530hrs -- MVA, Casey Highway at Exit 7, Carbondale Twp.
R51, Cottage ALS/BLS and Carbondale Twp. fire units were sent to the reported MVA with one car rolled over with injuries.  Unit arrived to find 2 patients self extricated.  R51 stabilized the vehicles using the Junk Yard Dog struts while Cottage EMS transported one to CMC and obtained one refusal.  Cottage EMS also transported one non MVA related patient from the scene to Marian Community.  The R51 crew also assisted with scene clean up.

R51 was sent with Cottage EMS and Station 60 fire units for the reported MVA with fluids down.  R51 portables arrived to find a minor MVA with patient refusals, no need for Rescue.  R51 returned prior to arrival.  R51, 51-9, E60, S62

10/28/06 1400hrs --  Brush Fire, Dundaff St. Fell Twp.
R51 was sent along with 61 fire for the reported brush fire.  R51  arrived and was returned by command 61 a short time later. 51, E61-3

10/27/06 1530hrs -- MVA, Brooklyn St. & Clidco Dr. Carbondale City
R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were dispatched to assist the Carbondale PD for an accident with a child injured.  Units arrived to find a minor MVA with no fire or rescue services needed.  Cottage EMS transported two to Marian Community.

R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were dispatched to assist CPD at an accident with a patient complaining of neck pain.  Units arrived to find a minor MVA with no rescue or fire services needed.  Cottage EMS obtained refusals from all patients.

10/26/06  2030hrs -- Commercial structure fire, Weis Market, Brooklyn St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS / Rescue were sent along with CFD for the reported fire on the roof of the supermarket.  Units arrived to find the store being evacuated and a smoke condition on the roof.  CFD found a faulty air conditioning unit and all units returned within 30 minutes.

10/19/06 1505 -- MVA, Rt. 6 in front of Peebles, Carbondale City
R51, Cottage EMS and CFD units were sent to the MVA with possbile injuries and fluids down.  Units arrived to find all occupants self extricated.  R51 stabilized the vehicles while CFD controlled hazards.  Cottage EMS transported one person to Marian Community with minor injuries.

10/18/06 1045hrs -- Fire Alarm, J&W Quick Mart Main St. Simpson
R51, R51-2 and Cottage EMS were dispatched to assist Station 61 with  the automatic alarm.  R51 proceded to the scene while R51-2 stoodby at  the hydrant.  Units cleared as no fire was found.

R51 was again dispatched to the scene while R51-2 was placed on  standby for the box alarm at Gentex.  Units arrived to find no fire  and returned to service.

R51, Cottage ALS/BLS, CFD & CPD were sent to the reported child struck  by a vehicle near our substation on Canaan St.  R51 portables arrived  to find the child inside a residence with minor injuries.  The patient  was transported by EMS crews.

10/15/06 1855 -- Structure Fire - 42nd St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS was sent along with CFD units for the reported garage  fire.  R51, on the road with 6, responded non-emergent to assist  EMS/fire crews.  All units were returned shortly after arrival as the 
homeowner put the fire out.

10/15/06  1835 -- MVA, River St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS/Rescue were sent along with CPD & CFD for the reported  pedestrian struck by a vehicle.  The first arriving units found the  pedestrian to be a dog.  All units were returned to service.

Rescue 51, Squad 51 and 51-9 were sent for the incoming medical  helecopter at the Hendrick's landing zone.  R51 set up the daytime LZ  while 51-9 transported the crew and patient.

R51 was dispatched along with Cottage EMS and Station 61 for the  reported natural gas leak.  Units arrived to find the gas company had  the situation under control and all units returned.

Cottage EMS, R51, CFD & CPD were sent to the reported motor vehicle  accident with injuries.  Units arrived to find a minor MVA with all  parties refusing treatment.  R51 was cancelled prior to responding.

10/9/06 0845 -- MVA, Rt. 6 Carbondale Twp.
Cottage EMS & Rescue were sent along with area 60 fire units for the 1  car MVA with reported injuries.  Units arrived to find a vehicle that  struck the guardrail.  The single occupant was refusing treatment.   R51 assisted S62 at the scene.

Cottage units were sent along with Station 61 for the injury accident.    Units arrived to find a one car MVA with 2 injuries.  The R51 crew  assisted EMS crews with patient care and assisted E61-4 crews at the  scene.

Cottage crews joined crews from all through the county to standby for  the marathon as the runners passed through our coverage area.

10/8/06  0110hrs -- MVA, Brooklyn St. Carbondale City
R51, Cottage EMS, CFD & CPD units were dispatched to the reported  rollover with the vehicle smoking.  51-9 quickly arrived to find 2  self extricated victims.  R51 provided lighting and assisted E51 crews  with stabilization and hazard control. The two victims refused  treatment.

10/7/06  1238hrs -- MVA, Gordon Ave. Carbondale Twp.
Cottage EMS, Rescue 51 and CTFD units were sent to the reported car  vs. pole with injuries. Units arrived to find the victim self  extricated and refusing treatment.  The R51 crew assisted with hazard

10/1/06 2140hrs -- MVA, Brooklyn St. & Cottage St. Carbondale City
The reported injury accident brought out crews from R51, Cottage EMS  and CFD.  Units arrived to find a vehicle that went off the road and struck a very large rock, with the vehicle now resting on the rock 
with one patient self extricated and one still in the vehicle.  Crews  extricated the non-entrapped victim and both were taken by Cottage  ALS/BLS crews to the trauma center.  R51 remained for lighting and

9/30/06 -- LifeFlight Landing, Hendrick's LZ
For only the 2nd time this year, R51 was not able to respond to a call.  LifeFlight 3 came to town to do a medical transport out of Marian Community.  Cottage EMS and CFD handled the LZ duties.

9/28/06 2130hrs -- Structure fire, Prompton, Wayne Co.
Rescue 51 was dispatched along with Rescue 59 to assist Station 94 (Prompton, Wayne Co.) for the reported fully involved structure fire with entrapment.  While enroute both rescues were returned per command.

9/27/06 1830hrs --  HazMat, Rt. 6 Carbondale
As Cottage units were clearing from Birch Hills we were dispatched  along with CFD units for the report of a tanker truck leaking a  chemical.  Units arrived to find no tankers in the area and the call  back number was not answered.  All units returned to service.

A pre-planned drill brought crews to the personal care home for their  annual drill.

9/27/06 1150hrs -- MVA, Lincoln Ave. & Main St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS & Rescue were dispatched along with CPD & CFD for the  reported 2 car MVA with injuries.  Units arrived to find 4 patients, 2  of whom refused care.  One non-entrapped patient was extricated by  crews and transported along with a pediatric patient to Marian.

9/26/06 0822hrs -- MVA, Rt. 106, Fell Twp.
The call for a motor vehicle accident brought Cottage EMS and rescue  along with Station 61 to the intersection of Rt 106 & Sandy Banks Rd.   R51 & 51-9 arrived to find a 2 car MVA, one of which rolled over at  least once, with all patients self extricated.  R51-2 & 51-8 arrived  along with E61-4 a short time later.  The rescue crews assisted the  EMS crews with one patient while the other refused.  Both vehicles  were stabilized and all hazards were controlled.  R51 & E61-4 crews  then helped clean up the scene. 9/23/06 1426hrs -- MVA, Casey Highway, Carbondale Twp.
R51, Cottage EMS and Station 60 were dispatched to the reported MVA  with injuries at exit 7 on the Casey Highway.  Units arrived at exit 7  to find nothing.  A R51 portable then called in after he located the  accident near the scenic overlook westbound.  A car traveling   eastbound reportedly blew a tire, crossed the median and struck the  westbound guardrail. All victims were self extricated and only one of  the three occupants required EMS care.  R51 helped with hazard control  and traffic diversion.

9/22/06  1130hrs -- Assist Cottage EMS, Dundaff St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS was dispatched to the medical type call for the person not  responding to a medical alert alarm.  The EMS crew arrived to find a  secured home with no response from the resident inside.  R51 was  summoned for forceable entry.  Just as the rescue arrived the  EMS/Rescue crews were notified that the resident was accounted for, at  a doctor's appointment.  R51, 51-9

9/21/06  1400hrs -- Assist Cottage EMS, Maple St. Carbondale City
Cottage EMS requested the assistance of R51 for lifting assistance on  the medical call. R51, 51-9, CH3

9/20/06  1830hrs -- Assist Cottage EMS, Homestead St. Simpson
Cottage EMS was dispatched to the reported 35 year old cardiac arrest  just as the R51 crews were assembling for training night.  The R51  crew responded and assisted with the call. R51, 51-9, CH3

9/20/06  0847hrs -- MVA, Washington St. Carbondale City.
R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were sent to the reported dump truck vs.  residence.  Units arrived to find that the dump truck struck and  sheared a utility pole causing the wires to come down before striking 
the residence.  The R51 crew assisted CFD at the scene. R51, 51-9, CH1, E51, CPD

9/18/06  1020hrs -- MVA, Brooklyn St. @ our main station.
R51 members who were at the station were alerted to an MVA in front of  our station on Rt. 6.  R51 personnel assisted with traffic control as no injuries were suffered and no other services were needed.

9/17/06 1150hrs -- MVA, Canaan St. & Rt. 6, Carbondale Twp.
R51 and Cottage EMS were dispatched to assist Station 60 for the MVA  with reported injuries.  Units arrived to find 2 injured.  The R51  crew assisted the EMS crews and helped with hazard control and cleanup.R51, 51-9, CH4, E60, S62, PSP

9/15/06 2045hrs -- MVA, Rt 171, Fell Twp.
R51, Cottage BLS/ALS and Station 61 were dispatched to a reported MVA,  head on with entrapment and possible fire.  While units were  responding a portable from Station 42 arrived and reported one 
entrapped and two patients in the roadway.  Cottage and FTFD units  arrived and went to work stabilizing the vehicles.  EMS crews promptly  began patient treatment while the R51 crew began extrication efforts.   Forest City EMS was requested for the 3rd patient.  Personnel from  E61-4 assisted the R51 crew by stabilizing the vehicle and providing  fire protection.  The R51 crew used the Hurst spreaders and cutters to  gain access to the semi-responsive victim.  The victim was extricated 
in less than 10 minutes and was handed over to EMS crews.  Three  patients were transported by Cottage and FC EMS.  R51 held at the  scene with E61-4 providing lighting and hazard control, using over  80lbs of absorbent.  Units remained for a few hours while PSP  investigated.

9/9/06 0355hrs -- MVA, Church St. & 9th Ave. 
Carbondale City R51 and Cottage ALS/BLS were sent along with CFD and CPD for the  reported car into a house with injuries.  Unit found that a driver struck a parked car, veered across the road, through a fence and into  a porch.  There was little damage to the residence and the female  victim refused EMS care. 9/8/06 0950hrs -- Pole fire, Reservoir St. & Tuttle St. Simpson
R51 and Cottage EMS were sent along with area 61 fire for the reported  transformer explosion.  Units arrived to find no fire or evidence of 
any explosion.  Units cleared as PPL was contacted for the power outage. R51, 51-9, E61-3

9/2/06  1640hrs -- Tree down, Owego Turnpike Fell Twp.
R51 was sent with station 61 for the large tree across the road but   was cancelled enroute. R51, E61-3

9/2/06 1433hrs -- Tree down, Dundaff St. Fell Twp.
R51 and station 61 were sent for the large tree across the roadway  from the high winds from TS Ernesto.  The R51 crew helped cut the tree  with chainsaws and opened the roadway. R51, E61-3

8/31/06  1621hrs -- Structure fire, Washington Ave. Carbondale city.
 Cottage was dispatched to assist CFD units for the reported kitchen  fire.  As units were just clearing from the below MVA they responded  to the fire.  Upon arrival of CFD 2 elderly patients presented with 
smoke inhalation.  51-9 requested a 2nd unit which brought 51-8. R51  responded as dispatched but were cancelled upon their arrival.  51-9  obtained two refusals and were released by CFD command.

8/31/06  1553hrs -- MVA, LVIH exit 7, Carbondale Twp.
R51 was sent with Cottage EMS and CTFD units for the reported  multi-car MVA with injuries.  Units arrived to find 5 victims, with  only one needing transport for the head injury.  The R51 crew assisted
the EMS crew with patient packaging and assisted with traffic and  hazard control.

8/31/06  1045hrs -- MVA, 7th Ave. & Church St. Carbondale city 
R51, Cottage EMS and E51 were sent to the vehicle vs. parked car with  injuries.  Unit arrived to find one patient.  The R51 crew assisted  the EMS crews, assisted with traffic and scene clean up.  51-9

8/29/06 1421hrs -- Reported structure fire - Peck Ave. Carbondale city
R51 and Cottage EMS were sent to assist CFD units with the possible  garage fire.  CFD units found a controlled burn and all units returned. R51, 51-9, E51, S51, R51-1

8/28/06  1807hrs -- MVA, LVIH exit 7 Carbondale Twp.
Units were sent to the reported injury accident with multiple  vehicles. The arriving rescue crew stabilized the vehicles and  assisted EMS crews who transported the injured.  The R51 crew then 
assisted with traffic control and scene cleanup.   R51, 51-9, 51-8,  E60, S62, PSP

8/23/06 1730hrs --  MVA, LVIH exit 7 east bound 
Again, R51, Cottage EMS and CTFD units were sent to the area of exit  7, this time for the two car injury accident.  Units arrived to find 2  vehicles involved with only one injury.  The R51 crew assisted EMS  crews and helped with traffic control. R51, 51-9, 51-8, E60, S62, PSP

8/23/06 1540hrs -- Car Fire, Rt.7 above LVIH exit 7 R51, Cottage EMS and CTFD were sent to the reported car fire.  Upon  the arrival of R51 CTFD had the fire knocked down. R51 assisted with 
traffic. R51, 51-9, E60, S62

8/22/06  1050hrs -- CO Call, Upper Powderly St. 
The rescue was summoned privately by one of our members to have a  residence checked for CO.  Our CO meters were used. R51

8/22/06 1432hrs --  MVA, Rt. 171 Fell Twp. (click for photos)
Call number 171 was located on Rt. 171 in Fell Twp.  Initial dispatch  indicated a 2 car MVA with injuries.  While enroute units were advised  that reports from the scene were of multiple vehicle and multiple  patients.  As R51, 51-9, 51-8 and CH 2 & 3 were already responding  51-7 and one unit from Forest City EMS were requested.  Wm Walker 59-9  was placed on standby.  Units arrived to find a 4 car MVA with only 4  victims.  One vehicle was on it's roof with the driver self  extricated, another was on it's side, again with the driver self  extricated.  The third vehicle was found in the roadway with the 
victim lying in the roadway.  The 4th vehicle was undamaged with the  single occupant refusing treatment. The R51 crew with the assistance of E61-4 personnel quickly stabilized all the vehicles and assisted  the EMS crews with patient packaging.  All victims were transported by  Cottage ALS units to local hospitals.  Wm. Walker held at station on  the standby and FC EMS was held at the scene.  Units remained on scene  for well over 2 hours while PSP investigated.  R51, 51-9, 51-8, 51-7, 51-10, CH1, CH2, CH3, E61-4, FC2, FP61, FP62  PSP.  On stanby- 59-9, E41, E75, E42
 

8/20/06  0940hrs  Structure fire, Salem Ave. Carbondale City 
Cottage EMS and Carbondale FD were dispatched to a reported struture  fire.  Upon arrival, CFD units confirmed a working fire.  EMS units  arrived and R51 was brought in for it's rehab services.  Units
remained on scene for over an hour.  R51, 51-9, E51, S51, R51-1, R59,  CPD

8/19/06  0010hrs.  MVA, Jefferson St. Simpson
The rescue and EMS units were sent to the upper half of Jefferson St.  for what was originally a report of a motorcycle accident with the rider unresponsive in the woods.  Units arrived to find that the call 
was actually in area 42 (Vandling) and the subject was just sleeping  n the side of the road after pushing his bicycle up the hill.   R51,  51-9, CH4, E61-4, FCPD, FC6

8/18/06  2240hrs MVA, 8th Ave. & Mill St.  Carbondale City
Cottage EMS and Engine 51 were sent along with the rescue to what was  originally reported to be an MVA involving 2 motorcycles and a car  into a pole.  Units quickly arrived to find a car vs. a motorcycle 
with the motorcycle rider the only injury.  R51 provided lighting and  assisted the EMS crew package the patient.  R51, 51-9, 51-8, CH4, E51,  CPD

8/17/06  1116hrs  MVA, Canaan St. & Rt.6 Carbondale Twp.
While responding to the below call the rescue was advised of another  MVA with injuries involving a motorcycle.  R51 diverted to this  accident as rescue services were not needed on the previous.  R51, 
51-9, S62, PSP

8/17/06  1112hrs  MVA, Morss Ave. Simpson
R51 was sent along with E61-4 and Cottage EMS for the injury accident.    Chief 61 arrived and reported no injuries.  Units then diverted to  the above call. R51, E61-4, 51-9, PSP

8/15/06  0219hrs
Structure fire, Rt. 106 Fell Twp.  Cottage units were sent to assist  Fell Twp.

8/13/06  2208hrs
Reported fire, Marian Community Hospital.  Cottage EMS and Carbondale  FD were dispatched to the reported smoke condition on the second floor  of the hospital.  Cottage EMS immediately responded 2 units and placed  our rescue on standby.  CFD personnel found a minor electrical problem 
and all units were returned. R51 (standby), 51-9, 51-8, E51, L51, R51-1

8/12/06  1615hrs Landing zone setup

8/10/06  2030hrs Unknown fire, Casey Highway 
R51, Cottage EMS and CTFD units were sent to the unknown type fire in the area of exit 6 off the LVIH.  After being given multiple locations a controlled burn was found on business Rt. 6 by Chief 60A and all units were returned.  R51, 51-9, E60, S62, L58

8/9/06  0600hrs MVA, Casey Highway 
R51, EMS 51 and CTFD units were sent to the reported MVA on the LVIH (Casey) eastbound, just west of exit 7.  EMS units arrived to find one victim with minor injuries.  R51 arrived and promptly returned to service.  R51, 51-9, E60, S62, PSP

8/8/06  1025hrs MVA, Fallbrook St. Carbondale. 
R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were dispatched to the MVA with reported injuries.  Units arrived to find a minor MVA.  The rescue crew assisted with patient evaluations and traffic control. R51, 51-9, E51, CPD

8/7/06  1805hrs EMS assist, Parnell St. Carbondale. 
R51 was requested to assist the ambulance crew that was dispatched to a fall victim.  The ambulance arrived to find an elderly victim who had fallen on an embankment, that was now unstable.  The R51 crew stabilized the embankment and the large railroad ties that were endangering the victim.  Once all hazards were stabilized the rescue crew assisted in packaging the victim and removing her down the remainder of the embankment and over a 6 foot wall.

8/7/06  1430hrs  MVA, Main & 7th Carbondale City. 
R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were sent  to assist CPD on the injury accident.  Unit arrived to find a 3 car  MVA with all patients refusing treatment. R51, 51-9, S51, CPD

R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were  dispatched to the injury accident.  Units arrived to find a pickup  truck that struck a parked car.  EMS crews treated and transported one  victim to Marian Community.  The R51 crew assisted the EMS crews and  helped with scene cleanup. R51 was sent to assist  EMS and fire crews on the working house fire.  R51 was requested for  rehab operations, assisted by Rehab 59. R51, 51-9, 51-8, E51, S51, R51-1, Rehab 59, 59-8

8/4/04  1150hrs MVA, Main St. Carbondale. 
R51, Cottage EMS and CFD were dispatched to assist CPD with the injury accident.  Units arrived to find a minor MVA with all patients refusing.  The EMS crews handled the refusals while the R51 crew helped out with traffic control on the busy Main St.  R51, 51-9, S51, CPD

8/3/04  0100hrs Landing zone setup

8/2/06  2330hrs
Cottage EMS was dispatched to the reported child who fell through a  bridge with an ankle injury.  Do to limited additional information the  Rescue responded to assist.  Units arrived to find the victim sitting 
on the side of the road, never acutally falling all the way through  the walk bridge.  The rescue crew assisted the EMS crew in packaging  the patient. R51, 51-7, S51

8/2/06  2310hrs MVA on 41st St., Carbondale City. 
R51, Cottage ALS/BLS and CFD were  dispatched to the reported rollover with ejection.  Prior to our  arrival the Comm. Center advised that they reports of confirmed ejection.  51-9/CH4 arrived to find a single victim in the roadway.    R51 marked on scene and assisted EMS crews and provided lighting. 8/2/06  1500hrs  Car fire, Dundaff St., Fell Twp. 
R51 and Cottage EMS were sent along  with FTFD for the reported vehicle fire.  R51 and 51-9 were the first  arriving to find the dashboard fire under control.  An extinguisher  was used to knock down the remaining hot spots. R51, 51-9, E61-4, E61-3
